Applicants need to have been in active practice for a minimum of 3 years post qualification in their profession, and hold current professional membership and insurance.

Outside course attendance, students are required to implement their learning into practice by offering a minimum of 15 hours supervision within their own, or an allied, profession and to access their own regular supervision with a qualified supervisor.

*Students also commit to reading and reflection between taught modules, ensuring they have time and space to complete and submit assignments with consideration and professionalism.

The experiential and practice based nature of the course allows tutors, peers and external moderators to assess and evaluate that successful students, not only satisfy the academic criteria, they also possess the professional and personal moral qualities to develop an effective, professional, supervisory relationship.

Students awarded a Diploma will have demonstrated professional competency and understanding of developmental and interpersonal theory including cognition, behaviour and affect and their relevance to Professional Supervision.

The portfolio developed throughout the training will prepare qualifying practitioners to apply to become a BACP Accredited Supervisor of Individuals, and/or Groups.

Previous graduates have secured clinical/professional supervision positions within

NHS, Charitable, Educational and Private organisations - supervising groups, and individuals, and have thriving private supervision practices supporting counsellors and psychotherapists practicing privately.
